An AI movie maker that lets you direct before you pay

VidGen Studio turns a story into a short film. You see every shot as an editable 3D scene first, fix what is wrong in plain words, and only then film it with today's AI video models.

A low-poly 3D storyboard frame of a fox holding a glowing star in the snow The same shot as a finished film frame: a detailed fox holding the star in a snowy forest
The 3D frame you direct, and the same shot in the finished film.

Why direct in 3D first

Most AI video tools generate a clip and hope it matches what you had in mind. When it does not, you pay for another try. VidGen works the other way round: the camera, the cast and the layout are decided in a 3D storyboard you can see and change for free, and the AI films exactly that frame.

Characters, colors and sets stay consistent from shot to shot because every shot starts from the same 3D world.

How it works

  1. Describe the story in a sentence or paste a full treatment. Pick a format (wide 16:9, vertical 9:16 or square) and a look.
  2. Claude writes the story and blocks out every page as a real 3D scene: the cast, the set, the light, the weather and a camera move.
  3. Select the scenes that are not right and say what to change in plain words. Only those scenes are redrawn, and every edit can be undone. All of this is free.
  4. Approve and film: an image model paints each 3D frame in your style, a video model (such as Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 or Seedance 2.0) animates it, and narration, captions and music are added in one pass.

What you get

What it costs

Writing, blocking and editing the 3D storyboard is free, and so is a 3D animatic film of it. You pay only for the AI work you approve: the provider's list price plus 20%, shown before every render. There is no subscription and no account, credit never expires, shots that fail are not charged, and when you change one scene later only that shot is filmed again.
